Join us for our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Center Elementary!
Sept. 15 - Oct. 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. It is often extended to Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, and while Hispanic and Latinx identities can overlap, the two words mean separate things. The term “Hispanic” refers to those who have ancestral roots in Spain or Spanish-speaking countries. The term “Latinx” refers to those who have ancestral roots in Latin American countries.
This month is a time to honor and celebrate the unique histories, traditions, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans. Hispanic Heritage Month begins in the middle rather than the start of September because it coincides with national independence days in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Chile, and Belize.
Join us for our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Center Elementary! All are welcome to come learn about Hispanic cultures through playing and celebrating our BCCS students.

6:30 p.m.: Student performances and dancing
