Make an Immediate Impact for our Families by Donating to BCCS Family Resource Rooms & Local Community Partners

Family Resource Rooms at Brooklyn Center Community Schools offer Brooklyn Center students, families and community, access to information and support from various community agencies addressing the basic needs for food, clothing, energy assistance, shelter, healthcare and more.

One way to support our community is to donate to our Family Resource Rooms and community partners so we can ensure families needs are met.

 

Donate Essential Home Items to BCCS Family Resource Rooms

The following items are donation requests coming directly from our community.

Personal Care Items

  • Soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion
  • Socks
  • Diapers, wipes, formula
  • Household items, cleaning items, all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant wipes
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dish soap, hand soap
  • Toilet paper, paper towels

Kids & Family & House-hold Items

  • Children's books
  • Board games & puzzles
  • Batteries
  • Gift cards
  • New or gently used items such as winter weather gear, sweatshirts and sweatpants, other clothing items.

Family Resources Rooms at all school sites are open Mondays - Fridays between 7:30am - 4:00pm for donation drop offs. For questions about a delivery of a donation, contact our Family Liaisons:

Donate Essential Food Items to CAPI

CAPI coordinates food boxes for staff to deliver directly to Brooklyn Center families. To donate food supplies to CAPI, visit their Food Shelf location during the following hours:

Drop Off Times

  • Tuesdays from 1-4pm
  • Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9am-12pm and 1-4pm

The following items are donation requests coming directly from our community.

Food Staples

  • Rice, beans, pasta, bread, tortillas, fideo noodles
  • Cereal, oats
  • Cooking oil, salt, sugar, spices
  • Fresh & frozen foods
  • Fruits & vegetables
  • Milk
  • Frozen meals (chicken, beef, pork)
  • Soups
  • Snacks: Crackers, nuts, etc.

 

Ways to Donate Monetarily

The Brooklyn’s Response and Recovery Fund & CAPI are taking donations that will be earmarked for and distributed directly to Brooklyn Center families in need. These are great avenues to donate monetarily.
