College & Career Readiness

Preparing students for college and career starts in Pre-K. We work to prepare students to accomplish each educational milestone so they leave our system feeling confident they will be successful in their chosen college or career pathway.

There are many opportunities for students to get ready for the next step after graduation, including:

  • Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

  • College in the Schools and College Now courses (CIS and CN)

  • Project Lead the Way (PLTW)

  • Career and Technology Education (CTE) courses

  • Post secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

  • Attending a College and Career Field Trip

  • Participate in a College and Career Lesson in your classroom

  • Schedule a one-on-one advising session with Ms. Hayden or Ms. Choua

  • Listen to one of our many career speakers

College in the Schools and College Now

College in the Schools and College Now courses are concurrent enrollment courses that provide students with the opportunity to take college-credit bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers or college faculty, at our school. Upon successful completion of these courses, students earn both high school and college credit at no cost.

These courses are a great opportunity for students to earn college credits before graduating high school and to experience the workload and expectations of a college course while in the supportive high school environment. Click here to learn more in the course catalog.
